Hi Gang,
There is going to be a real whing-dinger of a contest next June. We are calling it the Indoor Radio Control Championships! The dates are 20,21 June 2003. The location will be the HUGE hangar at Lakehurst Naval Station New Jersey.
There will be scale, aerobatics, racing, cargo, and endurance. The scale event will include a special award for the highest scoring scale model under 1.5 ounces, and this award is sponsored by Dynamic Web Enterprises (thanks Dan). The scale event will be in two divisions, Sport scale (you gotta build it) and Fun scale. The aerobatics will be run to the basic rules for outdoor pattern with the necessary mods for indoor flying. Racing will be multi-plane heats around two pylons, with the scoring similar to outdoor pylon. The cargo event is designed such that the weight lifted is divided into the gross weight for a score. The endurance event will be the the event in the AMA rule book for indoor R/C electric endurance.
The event is sponsored by NIRAC, and it is open to all AMA members.
