Increase voltage from 4.8 to 6.0v will've no effect on receiver (most big power planes did). Increase voltage to 6v increase the speed & torque of servo accorging to voltz & Multiplex. But it will decrease the duration of airborn according to Multiplex's statement.
The capacity of the battery depend on which type of sailplanes you're flying. For a scale model with more than 6-7 servos especially with high torque servo or super servo. I usually use 2000-3000mA. For a thermal sailplane, 650mA is enough for a day. If youe planes are F3B/J a 600mA is reasonable.
