Hi everyone
Well I finally done it I just had to go gas after seeing and hearing Chris's Top Flite P-51. So I selected the Hangar 9 Blue Nose to do the installation in. Don't get me wrong the electric motor and the 4 bladed prop were fine, but the idea of a gas motor in the P-51 was on my mind. I just could not help it so here we are I made the switch. This video is a preview of how the Saito FG 20 looks and is installed in the P-51. Essentially, I just followed the directions outlined in the instruction manual and used other information such as articles written in Fly RC Magazine's. The installation went well. So stay tuned for the flight and thanks for viewing.
Hi everyone
Here is the video of the Saito FG 20 start up and run in the Hangar 9 Blue Nose P-51. I still have more to do, a little more run time and adjustments to the Low and High ends. I also have to CG the model install the finishing touches and she will be ready to fly. I hope you enjoy this video and thanks so much for all your comments... Tim AKA TinkerManRC.
Hi Everyone
I finally got a chance to fly the Hangar 9 Blue Nose P-51 with the Saito FG-20, I got to tell you she flies fantastic. She also sounds awesome in the air, I was flying a little reserved and did not roll or loop the Mustang during this flight as I was testing her out. I would like to thank George and his son Noah for their help with ground handling and trim during the flight. I will have more flights and video with this bird , stay tuned and thanks for all your cool comments.
