I have chosen hard-brass pins to protect the expensive links against wearing. Maybe a steel-pin to steel-link combination will run, too, but I have no experience and so I was going the save way. My idea is to change the pin before to change the link/full track.
The pins on the picture may some deplaced/not fully pulled-in by doing the pictures. But the pins are semi-finished. This means:
-Pins are overlong +10mm. They must be shortened to final length. The material per meter is cutted only, so on the cutting-area/ends there is a little deforming which must be removed by shorting.
-No locking/head. To reduce the kit-costs I gave the customers the free to make /finish the pins self. Also, many peoples have different ideas to make the locking. The kit comes with shims that can hard-soldering to create heads on the pins. On the “open” side there is to drill a hole for classic pin + shim.
For my own track-set I just have flattened the pin slightly on one side and push it in. Together with an overhang of 1mm per side and some soft hits with a hammer from both sides, You create a riveting. Certainly, not fully correct/original, but I have chosen the simplest way.
-The Amortek-pins will fit, but it is slightly to slim. I remember 3.8mm Amortek-Pin-diameter on a 4.2mm bore. I have 4mm on pins and 4.05 to 4.1 on the links, so with less or minimum play. Also only possible by using hard-brass to avoid fretting. Further the Amortek-pins are slightly/2mm to long to fit on my tracks. This could be compensated with shims, too.
-As conclusion, no drawing of the pin is available.
One thing to keep the price low is that the pin-holes on the tracks must be final-drilled, too. The castings have 4.0 minus 0.05mm and have a casted surface and some casting-stains. I supply to you long 4.0 and 4.1mm drills. Just clamp the link into a bracket and drill by hand/akku-drill the holed from both sides – Just to ream-out the holes. A gentle spray with WD40 or any other light oil will help greatly.
