By careful selecting components, there is a good chance you can get to the reasonable weight range – see below chart for estimated weight.
The key is to weigh every component before put them into the plane, since some components are lighter than others, so take time to pick the lighter one – for example, tail wheel bracket and wheel, the heavy one can weigh 45~55g, but the lighter combo can be had for 25g or less, and the same can be applied to power switch and other components as well.
In addition, try to remove as much unnecessary structures out of the plane to save weight, for example, open up the nose ring – you only need a very thin ring on the outside to maintain the fuselage shape, and no structure is needed here.
Is there any frame in the removable canopy?
If yes, you can remove them and replace it with foam plate (3mm thick) to re-store the strength and help direct the intake cool air path through ESC and flight batteries.
Meanwhile, consider using one elevator servo.
The suggested models (elevator and rudder) on the chart below have more than enough torque to do the job, but they are the lighter choices to consider.
Finally, depends on the flight batteries you plan to use, it can vary by as much as 250g – I am using 800g (8S) to do the estimate since this is the standard for lighter choice in the 4000mA category.
In pattern application, we need consistent power output throughout the entire flight, so avoid high C rating batteries since they are heavier.
Look for lower C rating batteries for lower weight.
For 4000mA range capacity batteries, anything above 17C normal, 22C burst will do the job; the only time you might use maximum throttle is during vertical, and for 8S setup, voltage under heavy load should be around 28V, and by running maximum current of 78.5A under heavy load, will get you around 2200W, which is more than enough to fly this plane.
