Walkera stopped producing 801 - because some people complained that they lose the signal. So they made 802 with longer coaxial cables - so it will pick up signal at longer distances.
But honestly I need to tell you something. If you want to fly Genius or Mini CP - ok, they are very nice, very durable and perfect for indoor (living room, bedroom, office, etc...) but when if you want to set up 3gx and with walkera's receiver - in this case RX801 - you could have some problems as I did. First of all - the colors don't match (wires colors). So you need to experiment to make it work. It took me a while to make it properly. And after that experimenting and after your build you need to set up your transmitter. It's not an easy task. I am an experienced with programming - so it should be a piece of cake. But it wasn't. One word - walkera (made in china ) and align 3gx (made in taiwan) are not compatible. So you need time and patience to make it work. Finally I made it - but it was not easy. "

No idea why the guy is having a problem. I have the exact same combo and I used the wiring from the manual. The only thing I did differently was to plug in the battery wire from 3GX NOT into the BATT port, but CH7, that did the trick. I also did the bind with my Devo 8 receiver separately, without 3GX, so I was sure I have a good bind.

You don't need an extra battery. Just plug the power cable from the 3GX unit to the aux3 channel on the reciver and it will power up. Don't plug it in the "batt" socket on the reciver. Then it won't bind. The power cable is included in the 450 package.

把3GX的電源線接到接收上的aux3就能啟動了
