I don't use tape for sailplanes except for F3F. Even my 1:3.75 ASw28, I don't use any type. The lifting force acts upward while the weight of the fuselage acts downward. So 2 opposing forces keep the wing joiners tighten. So don't be afraid, just soar it except you planeis a racing sailplanes.
By the way, how is your 1/3.75 ASW-28 flying? It's summer time now and most places here the lift is weak. I don't even have the nerve to test fly mine. How is its thermaling ability?
