The new 3DH Edge 540, developed by Scott Stoops, is a model of the latest, greatest world-championship class full-scale Edges. It delivers that same performance in the very convenient 25% size. This design is extremely precise, featuring a long tail for very smooth aerobatic performance. This model is tuned for extremely low knife-edge coupling, making knife-edge maneuvers easy and fun, even the last quarter of a knife-edge loop. The exact mix of characteristics to handle the widest range of flying duties. The Edge is at home doing high-speed sport flying, serious IMAC precision practice, or the lowest, slowest, most confident 3D. This airplane includes removable SFG's for extreme knife-edge performance. Also included are wing bags, one-piece carbon landing gear, aluminum axles, one piece canopy hatch, pre-assembled motor box, removable wings on a large-diameter carbon fiber spar tube, ball-link hardware, carbon-reinforced elevator pushrod, fiberglass-reinforced landing gear mount, genuine ultracote covering, hatch latch, and more. For gas power, the 74" Edge is set up for the DLE-30 engine, and includes a firewall-drilling template for that engine and uses the standoffs included with the latest version of the DLE-30 engine.
Edge takes its styling cues from the awesome pylon racing Edges of the last few seasons, but its aerodynamics are optimized for aerobatics and post-stall 3D flight. All of the features pilots have come to expect a Stoops design: low coupling, excellent harrier, crisp precision - they are all here in a fantastic looking and easy-to-assemble package.
