~QD25 Rear Exhaust~
This engine comes as a complete package (engine, water cooled ignition
system, pipe, silencer, output flywheel and front motor mounts). It does
not come with batteries for the ignition system. It uses 2 or 3 cell lithium
polymer batteries, 1500 milliamps or higher. Or, you can use 6 to 8 cell
nickel metal hydride or Nicad batteries, 1100 milliamps or higher. This
engine uses a full circle crank supported by 4 main bearings. It is rated at 8
hp at 16,500 rpm and 7 hp at 20,000 rpm. But they routinely make 8.1 to
8.2 hp at 16,500 rpm and 7.1 to 7.3 hp at 20,000 rpm on the dyno. This
engine represents the ultimate in 25cc RC boating. It has made 101+ mph
passes in a sport hydro and currently it holds the NAMBA sport hydro
speed record of 97+ mph two way average in the same sport hydro by
Mike Bontoft of Washington in November 2004. This engine is extremely
reliable if propped correctly and if you don't hydraulic it. If you pay
attention to these two things, it works in a play boat as well as a race boat.
However, it does need to be run on racing gasoline, not pump gas.
